THE PLAYERS Championship Invests $600,000 in Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida to Build New Teen Center
THE PLAYERS Championship has announced a $600,000 commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida (BGCNF) to fund the construction of a new Teen Center in St. Augustine. This $1.2 million project aims to significantly expand services for local youth, tripling the number of teens served daily from 20 to 75.
“This donation from THE PLAYERS Championship is a remarkable investment in our youth and our community,” said Paul Martinez, President/CEO of BGCNF. “The new Teen Center will provide a safe, modern space for teens to learn, grow, and prepare for bright futures.”
With $800,000 raised to date, including $200,000 from an anonymous donor, the project is well on its way to becoming a reality. The Teen Center will feature dedicated spaces for academic support, leadership development, and recreational activities—equipping teens with tools to succeed in school, career, and life.

“At THE PLAYERS, we are dedicated to making meaningful investments in the next generation,” said Lee Smith, Executive Director of THE PLAYERS Championship. “We are proud to contribute $600,000 to bring this Teen Center to life and ensure that local teens have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. It’s an honor to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida in making a lasting impact on the community.”
